Programmes, Resources & Certifications

Certifications act as a valuable tool to inform our customers that our products and business processes are indeed of the highest environmental, ethical and sustainable standards. We believe in sourcing our environmentally conscious materials from certified organisations to ensure that we do our part to protect natural resources. Using internationally recognised standards and programmes also aligns our facilities to common goals and global best practice.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100

This certification ensures our labels are tested for harmful substances and are therefore harmless to humans in ecological terms.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC™)

We source FSC™ certified paper made with materials from sustainably managed forests and/or recycled sources. We also have numerous facilities that possess their own FSC™ Chain of Custody certification.

Global Recycled Standard and Global Organic Textile Standard

As transparency and traceability of supply chains becomes an important and necessary part of doing business, we are investing in certifications that verify the origins of our materials. We have recently acquired Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certifications with plans in place to roll out at across the group where it is appropriate.

Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC)

ZDHC MRSL Conformance Guide, Wastewater Standard and Chemical Management Systems Guidance Documents are being utilised at various operations to standardise wastewater and chemical management.

Higg Index

Developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, the Higg Index is a suite of tools that enables brands, retailers and facilities to accurately measure and score their environmental and social performance. It delivers a holistic overview that empowers businesses to make meaningful improvements that protect the well-being of factory workers, local communities and the environment.

We feel that standardising our sustainability reporting and environmental management across all global operations is an essential step towards driving transformative change from the ground-up.

Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC)

ITL is now a member of the SAC, the apparel and textile industry’s leading alliance for sustainable production.

Being a member means we commit to the widespread implementation of the Higg Index and we are well underway with this journey.

The membership will also allow us to collaborate with industry peers and leverage support from the SAC to drive improvement in environmental and social sustainability and transparency.

United Nations Global Compact

To express our commitment to take action in support of a better future for all, ITL is now a signatory of the UN Global Compact.

In doing so, we vow to uphold their 10 Principles regarding Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption as well as take strategic action to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
